When I asked Kendall if she had any inspiration for the shoot she showed me a Pinterest board full of women holding weapons. That’s when I was sure this was going to be interesting. She started Wild Captives, an archery brand, in an industry dominated by men, during the pandemic after going viral on Tik Tok. Kendall says that she wants to reignite the rich history of female archers, because it got her in touch with her own body on a deep and empowering level. What I experienced of Kendall was a deeply kind and caring soul with the gaze of a warrior. Our time together was easeful and familiar. She’s the kind of person who can sink right into a situation instantly, which made it easy to capture such intimate moments in our short time together.
